A review of The Lion King KIDS

by Lake Siglin, age 11

Hello, I am Lake and I saw The Lion King KIDS at the Waukesha Civic Theatre. Here's what I thought!

It was an awesome, funny show and I loved it. There were some scenes where they spoke and sang in a different language, which was a great element of the show because it was good to get exposed to different languages. A variety of languages from Africa including Swahili were used.

I was really impressed with the ensemble because they had a lot of quick costume changes and they did a good job keeping up with all of them. The set (designed by Katrina Hermann) was awesome and it was super cool. It looked realistic and was a nice touch to give the feel of a savannah.

The funniest characters were Timon, Pumbaa, and the hyenas, with Young Simba also having some funny moments. Benjamin Qualls, the actor playing Mufasa, did a great job playing such a famous Disney character. The entire cast put together a wonderful production that was enjoyable for audiences of all ages. This was the perfect show for young children who are just starting to see live theatre.
