A review of Newsies

by Lake Siglin, age 11

Hello guys! I saw Newsies at the Waukesha Civic Theatre and it was awesome! Here's a quick summary of the show: The newsies go on strike because the people in charge raised the paper cost. They rip the newspapers and get all of the other newsies to help, but the main character Jack Kelly's friend goes to jail, so he quits. You'll have to see the show to find out what happens next!

Here are the things I liked: The cast was really good! There were acrobatics and the whole tap dancing song was amazing. Everyone had awesome singing voices, and the storyline was a work of art. The set (designed by Evan Crain) was so cool and so high.

There are a few things you might want to know if you're a kid. There's some smoking and a few cuss words.

Overall all it was really good and you should definitely watch it if Waukesha Civic Theatre does it again!
